Erectile Dysfunction

What is it?

Erectile dysfunction is the inability to get or sustain an erection fit for sexual intercourse.

How is it brought on?

It can be brought on from many other physical and psychological issues. Conditions that affect sexual response and arousal are most likely to cause erectile dysfunction. Considering how many conditions could affect these, however, anything from sleep disorders to cardiovascular disease to stress could lead to erectile dysfunction.

Treatments We Offer

How to treat it

There are a variety of treatment options that we offer for erectile dysfunction here at Sleep & Wellness, including:

  • P-Shot® – “Liquid gold” platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has a diverse set of uses in the body, one of which is helping with the core issues of erectile dysfunction. Applying a solution of the patient’s own blood-derived platelets along the length of the penis stimulates stem cell regenerative processes and the formation of blood vessels and neurons, rejuvenating one’s sex life. Use of a penis pump for the next 6 weeks improves results of this treatment.
  • GAINSWave – A non-invasive procedure in which shock waves are pulsed onto the penile shaft and surrounding areas to increase blood flow and facilitate an erection. It works by breaking up plaques and stimulating the formation of new blood vessels. Further, the waves activate stem cells that then transform into beneficial cells that promote the resulting stronger and longer-lasting erections.
  • Oral Medications – This option has been historically used to combat sexual dysfunction. Oral drugs such as Viagra and Adcirca are competent options for treating erectile dysfunction for many men, though they have their own complications as well. Oral drugs work by relaxing the muscles of the penis, increasing blood flow to the area and thus allows an erection. These medications do not cause arousal; however, they can work in conjunction with the treatments mentioned before for maximized results and the best patient outcomes. Sexual stimulation is still necessary for these drugs to be useful. However, these drugs have been seen to work much better when either the P-shot® or GAINSWave is administered.
